The museums of Athens are filled with classic sculptures, frescoes and other antiquities. Home of the ancient Olympic Games.

Rhodes: Ancient Rhodes was a bridge between Europe and the East. The walled medieval Old Town reveals the heritage of Byzantines, Ottomans and the Christian Knights of St. John of Jerusalem during the crusades. Venture outside town to enjoy the island’s beaches or explore ancient ruins. Here stood the Great Colossus.

Today you can tour archaeological sites including the Great Theater where Paul preached to the Ephesians; the Temple of Hadrian; and the Temple of Diana, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world.

Jerusalem: Spend time exploring the renowned Old City – a UNESCO World
Heritage Site of the first order – and revel in the sights of a city holy to three
of the world’s great religions. A visit to the BYU Center is also an option.

Land’s Galilee and Nazareth. Explore the old market and the Church of the
Annunciation. Take a cruise on the Sea of Galilee or visit the Mount of
Beatitudes and fishing villages along the shore.

Sicily: Just a few miles from mainland Italy, Messina has served as a gateway to the island of Sicily since Antiquity. Over the centuries, the city has been influenced by foreign invaders and powers, and its architecture is a mix of old and new. Sicily has a rich and unique culture in music, literature, cuisine and it’s ancient sites.

Cyprus: Limassol or Lemesos in Greek, is the second largest town in Cyprus and the most southern of Europe. Known for its grape vines and famous medieval castle, built around 1000 A.D. by the Byzantines. On the same grounds is a chapel where Richard the Lionheart is supposed to have married Princess Berengaria of Navarre.

The tiny enclave of Vatican City is home to sacred sites and priceless art. Enjoy a Temple Session in the new Rome LDS Temple and tour the Temple Complex.
