Day One – SALT LAKE CITY * CALGARY
Your Canadian Rockies adventure finally begins! Get ready for a scenic journey through the Canadian Rocky Mountain region, highlighted by old-fashioned traditions, and great local culture! We board our flight this morning to Calgary where cowboys still ride tall in the saddle. After arrival, we board our motorcoach for a drive through Calgary and check in to our first-class Westin Calgary Hotel.
Day Two – CALGARY * LAKE LOUISE
After breakfast, enjoy an Orientation Drive of Calgary before heading to Lake Louise. Take a leisurely Guided Heritage Walk along the lake and hear about the area’s first settlers, some of the unique characters, and the history of this incredible setting. The rest of the day is at leisure. Enjoy a blue water canoe excursion, stroll along the lake, or just relax at this historic Canadian resort. Special feature: Your hotel tonight is the famous Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. (B,D)
Day Three – LAKE LOUISE * JASPER NATIONAL PARK
Head north on Icefields Parkway to savor stunning vistas of alpine meadows, waterfalls, and glaciers. We’ll stop at Peyto Lake, considered the best view in Canada and among the best in the world. Next on to Jasper National Park, a Dark Sky Preserve and largest national park in the Canadian Rockies, with the remainder of your day at leisure. Day Four – JASPER * EXCURSION TO MALIGNE LAKE
This morning, enjoy a scenic cruise on Maligne Lake to experience the wild beauty of Spirit Island, one of the most photographed spots on earth. Keep your camera ready for chances to capture a photo of deer, moose, eagles or bears. The balance of the day is at leisure to enjoy your resort. Pamper yourself with a spa treatment, a round of golf, or stroll the streets of Jasper with its array of specialty stores. Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge. (B)
Day Five – JASPER * COLUMBIA ICEFIELD * BANFF NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, we stop at thundering Athabasca Falls before continuing onto the Columbia Icefield - a trip highlight, for a memorable ride on the Ice Explorer all-terrain vehicle. Stand on 750 feet of ice and come face to face with the glaciers that feed into a Triple Continental Divide. Then, continue our journey with visits to Banff National Park. See Natural Bridge spanning Kicking Horse River and Emerald Lake. Arrive in Banff, with the balance of the day at leisure. Special feature: Your hotel for the next two nights is the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel. (B)
Day Six – BANFF
Explore Banff National Park with a scenic drive around Tunnel Mountain - watch for animals like elk, deer and unique landscape features like the Bow River and Falls. Later, consider an optional helicopter flightseeing trip with dramatic aerial views of the Rocky Mountains and Banff, or stroll the town’s colorful streets. This evening, meet a Canadian Mountie who will share stories and the history of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. There will be time for questions and answers before some great photo ops! Day Seven – BANFF * ROCKY MOUNTAINEER TRAIN * KAMLOOPS
This morning, board the ‘Rocky Mountaineer Train’ and journey over the Continental Divide, mountain cathedrals, and along the Kicking Horse River westward to Shuswap Lake, then overnight in diverse Kamloops. Tonight, enjoy free time in Kamloops. Note: Kamloops properties are considered moderate 2 or 3-star hotels or motor inns. Your chosen hotel is determined by Rocky Mountaineer; however, you can rest assured that it satisfies our high standards of cleanliness and comfort. (B,L - served onboard)
Day Eight – KAMLOOPS * ROCKY MOUNTAINEER * VANCOUVER
Back aboard the Rocky Mountaineer, your journey passes through the scenic Thompson Valley and Fraser Canyon. This afternoon, arrive in Vancouver, where you’ll be transferred to your hotel for a 2-night stay. (B,L - served onboard)
Day Nine – VANCOUVER
A full day at leisure to explore this vibrant city. Consider an optional excursion to Vancouver Island and charming Victoria or explore Gastown. Your Globus Host will have suggestions. (B)
